Anonymous is the name of a Hacker Group which released a straight threat to Facebook. Anonymous vowed to take down Facebook on November 5th. Question is, can this threat be taken lightly? If you look at the history of "anonymous" the answer is NO.


History of Anonymous
Anonymous allegedly to be involved in various Hack Attacks wide spread to different parts of the world. Just to refresh your memory. The Sony Playstation was taken down by this very group. It took sony to a month to recover its network. Though anonymous claims innocence.As anonymous is a leaderless organization It is widely belived that some people from the group are behind the sony operation.

Anonymous has also behind the hacking of 91 Malaysian government websites. Spanish police website, eventually accessing top secret documents. Read more about this group

About the Facebook Threat.
Anonymous looks like it is frustrated over Facebook's privacy policies.
Facebook keeps saying that it gives users choices, but that is completely false. It gives users the illusion of and hides the details away from them "for their own good" while they then make millions off of you. When a service is "free," it really means they’re making money off of you and your information.

Anonymous has now confirmed via their Twitter account that only some of anonymous members are organizing this operation against Facebook, and not all of Anonymous agrees with it.
